D&G Pets has been an essential part of Fort Collins since opening its doors in 1979.  In the thirty plus years following, it has endured a move across town, come into new ownership, and seen a complete inner remodel.  Throughout this time, however, one thing has remained constant – D&G has always had friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable staff who are passionate about their jobs and eager to answer questions.  

With over 7,000 gallons total, our fish room comprises 40% of our sales floor and includes marine fish and invertebrates, a wide variety of corals, and dozens of varieties of freshwater fish.  We also boast the largest selection of freshwater plants in the state of Colorado.  People travel from far and wide (or, at least from as far away as Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, and even Montana!) to visit our store for these reasons, and we are dedicated to providing our customers with the highest quality livestock available.  We also pride ourselves in having a variety of tanks and equipment, a wide selection of frozen and dry foods, as well as lighting and filtration systems.  If we don't have it in stock, we will gladly special order it.  We are focused on your success as an aquarist, be it freshwater or marine life that tickles your fancy.  Our expertise is not limited to the fish room - we also specialize in reptiles, exotic pets, tarantulas, and rodents.

We've recently joined forces with H2O Aquatic Design and are now happy to offer complete aquarium design, installation, and maintenance services for the home or office, with 24-hour emergency service available.  Research has proven that the benefits of a properly set up and maintained aquarium extends beyond aesthetics and can benefit people by reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, promoting healing, and improving employee productivity and morale when placed in a business setting.

Store Use Products.  What do you use in house?  For the saltwater/reef section, we use the entire line of available AquaVitro products.  We also use a lot of Prime and Stability, for both fresh and salt.  We recently switched from the Flourish line to the AquaVitro plant line for our plant section.  Other products we use in house are Discus buffer, GarlicGuard, and ParaGuard.

Best Sellers?  Prime, Stability, and Salinity are among the best sellers.  The new line of AquaVitro plant products are also becoming top sellers.  The staff are sold on these products themselves, which really helps the customer's decision when it comes to making a purchase.

How many years have you been using Seachem products, personally/professionally?  Professionally, D&G has been using Seachem products for about 20 years.  In 2011, we increased the line of Seachem products we carry threefold and proudly became a platinum dealer.  Personally, all of our staff members currently use Seachem products in their tanks at home and consistently report positive results. 

 In your opinion, what makes Seachem products different/better than other products?  Seachem is always coming out with consistently better products which help make aquatic husbandry a little easier, even for the beginning aquarist.  We have always gotten excellent results when using Seachem products and are always eager to recommend them to our customers.
